Fossils in the Geopark

Travel back millions of years this August at Worcester Cathedral with the 'Fossils in the Geopark' exhibition. Throughout August Worcester Cathedral will be exhibiting in the South Cloister a display of fossil specimens and exhibition posters entitled “Fossils in the Geopark” created by Geologists in the Geopark.

All Creatures Great and Small: a service of blessing for animals, filmed by BBC Songs of Praise

We are delighted to invite the local community - plus their animal friends – to our annual pet blessing service on Friday 16 September at 5.30pm. And this year it’s even more exciting, as BBC Songs of Praise will be joining in the fun, filming a feature for the programme which will air on 2 October in an episode designed to celebrate and give thanks for the way animals can enhance our lives.

‘SCIENCE’ Spectacular Sound and Light Show

A dramatic sound and light installation that takes visitors on a journey of scientific discovery is coming to Worcester Cathedral this September. The SCIENCE event will see the interior of the majestic building transformed to take visitors on a journey of exploration and intrigue. Created by award winning artistic duo ‘Luxmuralis’ – made up of sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper - sound and light art is projected onto the stunning architectural features within the Cathedral and visitors are enveloped with bespoke music as they make their way through the breath-taking installation.

Exploring faith, cooking, gardening, money matters, shopping and more, these events will culminate in a Big Green Family Fair in the Cathedral’s medieval cloisters in October.

Join us for Christmas 2022 as we celebrate with an avenue of glittering Christmas Trees, beautifully decorated by local organisations and displayed in our atmospheric medieval Cloister. The Trees will be innovatively and individually designed and decorated by local schools, charities, businesses and organisations.
