WORSHIP IN THE GARDEN: meeting with God in creation Starting in January, Worcester Cathedral will be launching a new, monthly service of worship. What makes it a little unusual is that it will not take place inside the cathedral. Instead, we will be outside, come rain or shine. SACRED GARDEN: engaging with God in creation through creativity Sacred Garden is a new monthly event that Worcester Cathedral is launching for people who feel God’s presence when they’re out in nature.
Celebrate the women of Worcester Cathedral with our new guided tours for International Women’s Day. Celebrate International Women's Day with Worcester Cathedral. Turn up or book ahead for this guided tour that tells the story of the Cathedral through the monumental women associated with it. Learn about the celebrated 19th Century author, a powerful and influential medival Queen, a campaigner for women's suffrage and maternal healthcare and many more! This is not a standard history tour of the Cathedral and will focus exclusively on the women who are memorialised at Worcester or have a strong connection to the Cathedral. The tour will last approximately 1 hour and costs £8 per person and £4 for U16s. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time here, or at the Cathedral front desk on the day. Tickets are limited to 16 people per tour. U16s must be accompanied by a full price paying adult.

Composer Will Todd’s MASS IN BLUE is an exhilarating jazz setting of the Latin Mass for chorus, soprano soloist and 12-piece jazz ensemble. It is performed here by Youth Choral Worcs (students and teachers from 7 secondary schools and Worcester Cathedral Youth Choir) with the UK’s Millennium Youth Choir, a youth choir from the USA, the Will Todd Ensemble, soprano Lorna James, and conductor Neil Ferris (Director, BBC Symphony Chorus). The concert will be presented by Guest Artist Jess Gillam MBE (saxophonist and BBC presenter). The programme includes improvised singing with Aga Serugo-Lugo, solo performance by Jess Gillam, and composer Will Todd’s arrangement of Amazing Grace with saxophone part composed especially for Jess Gillam and this occasion. Our surgeries offer one free initial 30 minute consultation, between 9.30am and 12.30pm, with Florence Goodwin of SME Solicitors, Worcester Wills and Probate Department. Florence is a solicitor specialising in Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney but is also available for any other legal matters of home and finance. The Three Choirs Festival is a week-long programme of world-class music making, featuring choral and orchestral concerts, solo and chamber music recitals, talks, cathedral services, theatre, exhibitions, and walks, rotating each summer between the beautiful English cathedral cities of Gloucester, Hereford, and Worcester. One of the elements which makes the festival so special is the Festival Chorus, which is made up of auditioned singers from the local area trained by professional directors, meaning that the Chorus both sings to a high standard and is a real part of the community. Three Choirs is thought to be the longest-standing classical music festival in the world and celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2015.
