From Worcester to Mars: Exploring the Red Planet

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

To coincide with our SPACE event, join Catherine Regan - a second-year PhD student at the Mullard Space Science Laboratory, UCL, studying the Martian environment - for her talk 'From Worcester to Mars: Exploring the Red Planet.'

Having grown up in Worcester, Catherine is now based in Surrey where she is working with various space missions to help understand why Mars is so different to Earth.

Having studied geophysics at undergraduate level, she is applying this knowledge to the Martian system – researching volcanoes, atmosphere loss, dust storms and plasma, with the aim of answering the ultimate question: Is there life on Mars?

Join Catherine and hear about how she ended up at a world-leading space laboratory, the history of our fascination with Mars and details about the upcoming launch of the Rosalind Franklin Rover in 2023.
