Misericords

Worcester Cathedral has 42 misericords, 39 of which date from the 14th century. They show a variety of images from the bible, mythology and folklaw, featuring many fantastic animals and a complete set of the Labours of the Months.

If you would like to view the misericords please ask a verger or welcomer for assistance.

You can purchase a guide from the Cathedral shop.

Adopt a Misericord

The current Cathedral building was started in 1084 and has its fair share of treasures. The Cathedral is committed to the upkeep of the fabric of the building both inside and out, and is offering the opportunity to adopt a piece of its history to help support the on-going conservation and running costs.

For more information and prices, pleaseĀ visit our Adopt a Piece of History page.
