Worshiping at Worcester Cathedral, Daily and Weekly Services

Quire-Screen-smaller.jpg

Worcester Cathedral has been and continues to be a place of Christian worship and prayer for fourteen centuries.

The present building was begun in 1084 and is dedicated to Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

This Holy Space responds to all human need, giving forgiveness and peace to any who seek it.

As well as our regular daily†services, there are also festival†services, which occur during the calendar year, and special†services†that can be booked. The 1662 Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship of the Church of England are used daily. We are part of the worldwide Anglican Communion and have a deep commitment to fostering unity in the church and the world.

There are a number of chapels within the Cathedral that can be used for private prayer and reflection and candle stands are located outside the Jesus Chapel and in the Lady Chapel. Requests for prayers are accepted and bibles are available and a member of clergy can be contacted for those wishing to speak to a priest.

Everyone is welcome to visit the Cathedral and to attend its services.

May God bless you with love and peace.

Father in heaven,
You have given us a mind to know you,
A will to serve you and a heart to love you.
Be with us today in all we do,
So that your light may shine out in our lives,
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord,

Amen.
