Booking A Service
As well as our regular daily services and annual festival services we also hold bespoke services. If you would like to enquire about holding a service here at Worcester Cathedral, please fill in the enquiry form below. Remember to include the date that you would ideally like.
It would be helpful to give us as much information about the service that you are wishing to hold at the Cathedral as possible, including the proposed number of worshippers/attendees anticipated.
What will happen next to your enquiry for a service?
1) We will check that we can accommodate the type of service that you are requesting and also check the Cathedral diary for availability. We will then contact you by telephone or email to let you know whether we can proceed with a formal application. If we are able to proceed, we will discuss with you the type of service that you are requesting and the costs involved.
2) We will forward to you an application form for you to fill out, sign and return to the Chapter Office for the attention of Susan MacLeod the Operational Manager.
All services are planned and overseen by the Precentor, Canon David Stanton. The content of the service will be agreed and approved by him.
If you wish to request to have your own preacher lead the service, further permission needs to be sought for this.
3) On receipt of the signed application form, it will be checked and if all details are correct, your application will be progressed to the next weekly application meeting, where your request will be considered. Once approval has been agreed, you will be notified by either telephone or email.
4) Your application will be passed to the Precentor and either he or the Head Verger will contact you to set up a meeting with you to discuss the service in more detail and finalise arrangements.
