The Chapter

The Chapter oversees the day-to-day life of the cathedral and the staff appointed by them. It is responsible for the strategic direction of the cathedral's mission and ministry and monitors the results.

He also represents the cathedral in the city, the county and holds responsibilities in the wider diocese.

	Contact: davidstanton@worcestercathedral.org.uk Direct - 01905 732940		Canon Stanton is responsible for the cathedral's liturgical work and music.  He is also responsible for the pastoral care of the cathedral community.
	Reverend Canon Dr Georgina Byrne		Residentiary Canon
	Contact: The Chapter Office  - 01905 732900 Direct - 01905 732938		Canon Byrne has the dual role of Residentiary Canon of the Cathedral and Diocesan Director of Ordinands, as well as continuing her work as the Dean of Women's Ministry for the Diocese of Worcester

	Les West		The Cathedral Steward
	Contact: mailto:leswest@worcestercathedral.org.uk Direct - 01905 732907		is the chief administrative officer and as such is responsible for the day-to-day management of the cathedral and staff. It is the Steward's task to put into action the strategy set by the Chapter. The Departments that perform the Cathedral operations all report to the Steward.
	Adrian Lucas		The Master of the Choristers
	Contact: adrianlucas@worcestercathedral.org.uk Direct - 01905 732916		is responsible for the musical life of the cathedral, which includes the Cathedral Choir, the Voluntary Choir and the Chamber Choir. He is assisted by Christoper Allsop and a Dept organist, George Castle.
	Reverend Charmian Manship		The Succentor and Chaplain

	Professor John Vickerman		Reader
	Contact: The Chapter Office - 01905 732900		A Reader in the Church of England who is authorised to lead worship, to preach and to administer communion.

The Cathedral Council

This is the key advisory body, established to support the work of the Chapter. It provides a sounding board as well as expert guidance to assist the Chapter in its decisions. It has the informal role of watchdog ensuring that the cathedral fulfils its legal responsibilities.

The Council is made up of the following groups:

• The Bishop of Worcester
• The Dean of Worcester
• Eight members appointed by the Bishop
• Two members appointed from the Chapter
• Two members appointed by the College of Canons
• Two members appointed by the cathedral community

The College of Canons

This body brings opinion and questions from across Worcestershire and the Metropolitan District of Dudley. It also enables open communication between the cathedral and the diocese.

The College of Canons consists of the following:

The Cathedral Community Committee

This committee is chaired by the Dean and made up of representatives from all the different cathedral groups. It brings opinions, suggestions and questions to the Chapter from the membership of the cathedral.
